If you are creating a design using photos as your primary backdrop, let the image give you a guide on where to place your type. You can create interesting compositions busing the space allowed by the photograph you are using.
This tactic allows you to take the feelings already associated with the composition of the photo and combine them with appropriate typefaces to enhance your message more cleverly than if you just slapped the text on.
Give it a try, place text in the obvious negative space, or inside an object, let it wrap around an element or go in front of or behind it. Experiment and try just going with the flow of the objects and lines in the photo. At the very least, it will be fun. At best, you’ll come up with an awesome layout.
